Type in the date ie 13 May 2008 and click the small calendar box on the right of the field.  It will display a calendar - click on the highlighted date and it will insert that date in the field.

This works for dates throughout the site.

• Go to Dog's main page
• Select Edit this Dog
• In the Sire field type a couple of distinctive words from the dog's name ie gayplume or flamboyant and hit the List button
• A Find Dog window will appear with suggestions of dogs on the database whose names contain those words [note that you may need to accept "pop-ups" from Leighs Computing on your computer]
• Select the dog you want from the list.
• If the dog you want is not there you will need to Add new dog.

Pedigrees are created automatically by knowing the Sire and Dam of each dog so it is best to start with the earliest dogs in a pedigree and work forwards.

In Internet Explorer 7 if you hold down the Control key when you click a link it will open that link in a new tab.  When you have finished looking at the link close it down and you will still have your list.  If you make any changes to the linked entity you may need to refresh your list.

Another way is to right click on the link and select Open in a new window.

Clicking the small left pointing triangle at the top-left of the Menu gives you a wider screen of the page you are looking at - click again to bring back the Menu

Go to Advanced Search - Dogs - Show health fields. 

You can search on any of these fields ie type in "laryngeal paralysis" in the Diseases field and press search.  You can also use the main dog fields to refine the search. 

Please note that only a small amount of data from the Breed Record Supplements is included at the moment. 

To see which dogs have health results on the database put in a wild card * in any of the health fields.  The list shows the result on the far right hand column.  Make the screen wider for easier viewing.

For faster upload of photographs they should be resized to about 600 pixels.  

To add a photograph to a dog:

Go to the dog's main page

Click on the Photograph button on the lefthand menu.

Click on Edit this dog on the righthand side.

Click on Add photo.

Click on Browse to select the photograph from your own computer.

Add a Caption.

Click OK

This may take a while depending on the size of the photograph.

Please give an acknowledgement if the photo was taken by a professional photographer

You can also edit the Caption for a photograph by clicking on Edit this dog.

The same method applies to adding photographs to Events.
